DISSERTATION

“A Relationship Marketing Approach to Undergraduate Student Engagement”

Dissertation Proposal Defense: June 2024

Dissertation Defense: June 2025

Educational-related events, programs, and activities outside the classroom exist to assist students in making connections, learning about future occupations, and increasing their knowledge. Despite faculty efforts to motivate students, attendance is low. My research investigates whether addressing the individual differences of students will result in better attendance at educational and co-curricular events outside of the classroom.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Student Engagement, specifically motivations, generational trends, microtargeting, and the impact of social capital on behavior.

My research addresses why students appear to be "bored, unmotivated, uninvolved students who are disengaged from the academic and social aspects of school life." (Appleton et al, 2008, p. 369)
